Luke 15:11-32 (CSB)
God’s presence is more valuable than his provision.
God’s love lets us leave.
The distant country is any place that we choose independence from the Father over intimacy with Him.
Promises freedom, but delivers bondage.
Drains what the Father fills.
Starves us into surrender.
The Father heals what the distant country broke.
The Father’s love is humble and lowly.
The Father never stops looking for his son to come home.
Ring — “You’re still my son”
Robe — “Your sin hasn’t taken your dignity”
Feast — “Your homecoming is worth a celebration”
Many of us are lost, some just hide it better.
Don’t water the root of bitterness.
Sometimes we don’t need a party, we need perspective.
